I have googled this and haven't found a solution. I am hoping that someone here knows how to solve my little problem.
I have been emailed a load of contacts as attachments to copy into my outlook which is the 2010 version. I don't know how to do it, can't find enlightenment on google and I was hoping to to it at home over the holidays.
Does anyone know how to do it - do I have to save each attachment to my desktop and then? How do i move them into outlook 2010.
    Thank you

You can use CTRL & A to select all attachments I think, then right click on the highlighted files>Save as and save them to a new folder on your desktop (to keep things clean). In Outlook 2010 you can import via File->Open->Import and choose the format of the contacts (possibly Vcard) or whatever and select the files

Thank you for your help. I copied out the attachments as you said, the second part didn't work your way but I messed around and got them in to my outlook one at a time.
    all the best for 2012

If you are doing this again I'd suggest the sender send the info in a better format.

    BostonB,
If it happens again that someone wants to send me a load of contacts, how should I ask they be sent to me? What format do you suggest?

Try receiving the contact data in VCard format, Outlook probably won't work with proprietry formats, do you know what file extension the contact file is, i,e: .xxx

Well I meant ones that are designed for specific applications, none in particular, theres probably hundreds of different formats contact data could be stored in
