hi all i read on here about the increase to the dog licence on the 1st of jan 2012.
so seeing as i have just got my first pup i thought i had better get it now seeing as it would not cost as much.
anyway i was on another site and i happened to mention about the price increase and i was told that i was a fool for buying it in the first place !!

i asked the person why was i a fool and he replyed to me that "working dogs do not need a licence" !!

    is this so ?
he may have ment for uk dog owners or is it the same here, are irish working dogs exempt from the licence.

I think hunt packs might be exempt but gun dogs aren't as far as I know

working dogs do need a license
and its going upto 20 euro

now a hunting pack might be different for hunting on horses
but a pointer or springer in your garden does
otherwise there would be people saying there out hunting with pugs to avoid the license lol
