Training query for 10k prep

People, simple question coming up. I'm getting ready for a 10km race in early March (I know, but hey, to each his own) and today did a little session including 2x2kms at planned race pace. What I'd like to know is, would it be more beneficial to go 2x3kms or 3x2kms next time?? Any other advice welcomed too as I've never really trained for this distance before. Hoping to get around 37.30. I'm 46 yr old male if that helps and I have access to track but I'm not in a club.

I have done some of these schedules on the build up to a 10k I am running on New Years day and some of them are a real bitch, especially the 3x2 mile at race pace, I have never done a session that replicates the feeling at the end of a race so accurately! Good Luck

Yeah, having looked a bit closer I had noticed there are some right tough sessions there. It's hardly surprising that you'd hit your goal after doing those in training. Good luck at the weekend.

Let us know how you get on. Personally, it would kill me, but it might feel easier to know it works:p

Will do, if it makes you feel better, they nearly killed me as well! Better be worth it.
