I went to download an app there and it said the app store is not available in my location.

Does anyone know a way around this?

    Cheers

Using a Kindle Fire by any chance? You need to root it so you can then install the standard Android Market. They you can download any app you want onto the device.

I bought a kindle fire, and when I go to the amazon market it wouldn't let me get anything but if you root your kindle and then you can get the android market place I did it and there are a lot of apps on there that aren't on amazon. There are tutorials on youtube for it but its a bit confusing and involves lots of downloading files and using your computer.

I'm actually using a HTC Desire running Cyanogenmod7.

I installed the Amazon App Store app and was just trying to get their daily free app (Monpoly today) and it gave me that error regarding my location.

Should it be working in Ireland, or will I have to just give up? Maybe if I create a new account with my home country set to the states?

The Amazon store works off your I.P. address so you'll need to use a USA I.P. to access it.

Ye effort. I think I'll just uninstall the Amazon App store app.

I'm already on CyanogenMod7. To be honest though, if its gonna be that much hassle, I could nearly get the free app elsewhere.

Market enabler is only a simple download and it only takes a second tobchange.

Market enabler won't work with the Amazon app store. It used to be that you could set up an account with a us credit card, but it looks like they have blocked this now also.

It doesn't work anymore with a US IP address - you need a US CC as well. Market Enabler has nothing to do with the Amazon Appstore. They seem to have blocked every loophole that was there.

it only uses the IP on the app on your phone. I use the amazon appstore everyday. I get the free app via the website (pc or phone) and then it's available on my account via the app.

*edit* Just to clarify, I do have a US credit card as well, probably why i'm not having issues.

More hassle than it's worth imo.

Got it to work. Make sure if using test credit card number, use an american express one.
Otherwise it will complain about region.

Woo What's this hot donut ?

I just came across the Amazon appstore which has some cool games, not available in the android market. But its only available in the US.

After some googling i found out and tried that you can create a new amazon account on the amazon.com website. You have to have a separate email to the uk amazon website. And you have to have american details, address, phone number, credit card. I used a website called fake name generator to enter details. You can download the amazon appstore and with the new amazon account you can get the free stuff.

I also managed to buy a game using my o2 money card. I bought a game from the amazon website that was available for wifi download, amazon used the fake credit card details that was registered. Off course being fake it didn't go through but it gave you the option to enter a new credit card to purchase. It went through and then you go into the amazon appstore application on your phone and go to settings, then My apps and then it should be available for you to download.
