    hi

    Just yet another question for you on Saorview. I picked up the above tv in tesco when it was on offer in Tesco for €149.

    When I pluged it in I get the Rte, Network 2,tv3.3e the radio and the kids stations-these come up as DTV air. BBC, Utv etc now come up as ATV we were always able to get a decent reception but they arnt that great. Should I be getting anymore stations then this?

    I've checked the coverage map and the nearest mast to us is kippure. Our aerial is in attic and my folks have asked a tv guy to come out and have a look at moving it.

    ATV = Analogue tv.

    So you're somewhere in Meath? The UK channels will be coming from a transmitter in Northern Ireland & your Saorview channels are probably coming from Clermont Carn; they will be on UHF channel 53 if that is the case.

    This particular tv mightn't have as sensitive an analogue tuner as what you were using previously (or doesn't like displaying analogue broadcasts) & you'll have to wait until next October for a chance of UK Freeview (digital terrestrial) reception.
