    Hiya folks.

In conjunction with this thread over in Banking, is it reasonable to say, that a bank, if it finds what it thinks is evidence of cash in hand payments, is allowed to notify Revenue about tax evasion.

I have read up the data protection act and it seems to be covered in section 2B.

    I think it is.

    Thanks all.

It contacts a certain department within the bank, they contact the revenue or and Garda. What they do not do is inform the customer. They've made a right royal screw up on that one. Using the revenue as a threat. Wish I could lay my hands on my bankers books there's pretty strict guidelines around all data controllers. That applies to everyone working in financial services from the little old lady in the post office to the financial advisors.
