Ring your insurance company and give them her reg and they will deal with it from there.

Well you have her reg plate, which you passed on to the Gardai. They will trace the owner etc and approach them over this.

The Gardai may then do a paint match to confirm it was in fact that woman's car. Therefore not giving her any loophole to get out of this.

you should notify your insurance company that you have been involved in what I suppose is a hit and run!

Why? You've already been given all the information required

Report it to your insurers, they and the Guards will pursue the other drivers insurance (if any).

It will likely take a few weeks for everything to be sorted out due to the fact that a criminal offence has occurred as well as the civil one; and the time of year it is. Bumping the thread won't make that happen quicker.

You'll need to post a pic before you can get an estimate.

first thing take a pick with camera maybe good phone of the damage. go back to where it happened, and look see if there are any cameras. If the paint on your car is metalic it will cost more. My brother is panel beater the damage may be small but they have to paint the whole panel. you get very little panel work done these days that costs under 300 euro.
keep in touch with gaurds try deal with one gaurd. if you have fully comp with bonus protection you should be ok anyways.

You have reported it to the Gardai, keep in regular touch with them, pass the investigating Gardai name to your insurance company again keep in regulary contact, don't hound them, be polite at all times, even if you think it is not happening sa fast as you would like.

Bring the car to some repair centres and get quote, you will need these for the insurance company, make sure you get a quote from a main dealer as well ;).

Main thing is to relax, the hard part is now, tracking the other person and getting their insurance details.

Go back to the shopping centre and see if they have any CCTV of the area from that day, this could help prove the other person did the damage.

Remember, it is only a car, you could have been sitting beside a hospital bed.
