downloading apps to a laptop, transfer to tablet

Is it possible to download apps to a laptop and then transfer to an archos 101 tablet. Appslib is very slow on the archos and keeps showing no connection or server down.

I got a 101, it's slow but after researching it further it's always this slow after Christmas but the servers will get less busy in a week
