    hey all,
i was away for a few days over christmas, and when i came back,i turned on my pc,only to find it running unbelievably slowly. Also there was programmes that i had deleted back on there, such as windows defender, sims 3,and a couple of others, all of which i deleted/removed ages ago. Also my flash player wasnt updated, even tho i did it only 2 weeks ago!!!!what is going on????and no, there was no one else near the computer...
    i've deleted all the stuff again,and did a system restore,and a registry clean up(in which there was 66 problems,normally 1 or 2 maybe)and i'm back on track,running smoothly...how did this happen???any ideas???

Are you certain you left and came back to the same computer? Unlikely that programs and games installed all by themselves - especially if your computer was off!
Look in Event Viewer and see if your computer was powered on while you were away!

all merryment aside the eventviewer is your best friend here in determining what happened.

you've done a system restore so most of the evidence would be gone now

if you hadn't done a system restore then I'd have guessed that one had been done to roll you back in time

might be no harm to do a full check on the system for malware / rootkit ?
