    In my case I use 2 identical 1TB drives stored in separate locations and I also back up data remotely (not music or films/TV) to Flickr (pics) and Sugarsync (all other files).

    Thanks, what kind of software to you use to remotely sync them?

    My drive wouldn't be accessible outside my home LAN.

    So I use sugarsync to sync files online and remotely (I have a 30gb account but a 5gb account is free). But I have one harddrive in work and one at home and the laptop comes in and out of work.

    For syncing between my laptop and harddrives I use SyncbackSE but there's a free version too from:
    www.2brightsparks.com
