It doesn't have to be serviced by a main dealer, but you do need to be able to prove that it was maintained as per the manufacturers requirements. In simple English, this means that it's easier to have the dealer service it while it's under warranty. Shop around for the best price.

With main dealer service deals these days and with the little that needs to be done in the first few services (oil + filter most likely), I'd pay the €130 or so just to keep the hassle down. If your not a mechanic and you do it yourself I'd say you'd really struggle with the warranty.

If you want the FSH stamps then you need a dealer or similar.

If your not a qualified mechanic then yes, your warranty will be invalid, regardless of your capabilities.

It can be serviced in any registered garage and once its serviced according to the manufacturer service schedules using OE quality parts then the warranty must be honoured.

You need to get an annual inspection done in a KIA dealer I think for the extended 7 year warranty
