    Radio One and Newstalk..

Though Radio One loses me completely during both the Summer exodus and Christmas complete shutdown of services for two weeks... I know Newstalk and other station's presenters obviously get time off as well, but seems nowhere near as long as RTE..

    1. Today FM
    2. Newstalk
    3. Red FM
    4. Spin South West
    5. ULFM - University of Limerick's new full time streaming radio station, broadcasting Monday to Friday 11am-11pm(11-5pm on Friday). Listen now via the link in my sig. [/shameless plug] :pac:
    6. RTE 1, mainly the play's they have on Sunday evenings and Sunday Miscellany is quite good.
    7. Chuckle-Check, one of those stations in iTunes that plays stand up comedy 24/7, usually I listen for maybe 2-3 days at a time and then won't listen for a few months as they tend to repeat.

Was listening to BBC radio 4 at 9 am, a 45 minute round table discussion about Polymers and their potential hosted by Melvyn Bragg. Completely fascinating subject which will have an enormous impact on our lives, I dunno what Pat Kenny was discussing as I didn't even think to check. Its why Radio 4 rocks.

Adrian Kennedy on his FM104 show is always discussing this subject.

There is nothing on his show that requires use of the prefix "poly"!

Today FM is closely followed by Newstalk, depending on the time of day -

Enjoy the Ray Darcy show, and Off the Ball is just class!

2fm for music, then last word from 4:30pm on Todayfm then off the ball from 7pm on Newstalk.

No fav as such but will never listen to 96fm (Cork).

Beat102103 (their breakfast show is possibly the only one of its kind I can stand).

    Followed by 2FM and TodayFM.

South East Radio when I'm feeling county-patriotic.

Hilarious news quiz called "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me", then the following current affairs and arts shows:

    Morning Edition
    All Things Considered
    Fresh Air
    The Diane Rehm Show
    On Point
    Talk of the Nation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,425 ✭✭✭telekon

Its between Newstalk and radio 1 but Newstalk comfortably wins out as it doesn't give a platform to the likes of Derek Mooney and John Murray to annoy the nation. That Ronan Collins show screams 'filler' which you can't accuse newstalk of doing in its schedule in fairness. I don't even know what's on radio 1 after 7pm to be honest...it doesn't matter tho as the Off the ball lads are excellent.

Radio 4/Radio 4 Extra and Newstalk for speech radio and Lyric for music. Oh and Radio 5 for sport.

    BBC Radio 4
    BBC Five Live
    RTE Radio 1
    RTE Radio 2 (Dave Fanning)

    Cannot abide Corks 96 FM.

    Radio 4
    Five Live
    6 music
    Talksport
    RTE 1

Newstalk used to be on the list. But I'm fed up listening to people ranting about a bank bailout that occured three years ago.

    .

Yeah its good isn't it. Its a good mix of music, entertainment and news. Haven't heard it in ages though. It is still Niall, Vinny and Mary in the mornings?

    The Diane Rehm Show

I'm sure she's a very nice person but I just don't like her the way I don't like Eanna and some other female presenters.
