    Hi All,

I'm looking at buying a Saab 9-3 2006 model at the moment, I haven't picked a particular car out so I'm still on the fence about it. I would be interested what other peoples thoughts were, what version would you go for or would you recommend a different car altogether. The budget is about 7500, I'm used to the 500 - 600 tax range and my insurance is cheap (yes I'm that old and carefull!)

    Thanks

Something to keep in mind is that saab specific parts supply is very limited(read practically non existent) at the moment.

Other then that they are not a bad car, mostly GM/Opel parts underneath(vectra chassis). If your looking at a turbocharged model then servicing(past and future) is very important.

Yeah the lack of parts is a real issue for me, I don't fancy pumping cash into it. Any other suggestions on makes and models. I've just got rid of a 2001 Volvo S40 which I liked from a comfort point of view and now I've had a look at the Volvos in my price range and the 2007 S40s look nice?

Keep in mind the 9-3 1.8 is actually a 2 litre engine.

I like the 9-3, but you will find a raft of people with reasons not to buy one, but none of them very strong. If you find one, get it checked and best of luck.
