Has anybody got any idea how much labour might be to change an engine in my peugeot partner van. Its 05' 1.9,was thinking of putting a 1.9 Turbo engine in it coz the straight is dead as doornail. Barley get 70mph on motor way.

It'd be a lot cheaper and a LOT less hassle to just sell your van and buy a new one.

Im afraid turbo conversion it is not so simple as bulb change. cheaper sell and buy turbo one. To put turbo engine, i think need another ecu, exhaust and wiring kit.

try do chip tuning, i think it is 2 or 300 euro, also increase inlet pipes and exaust manifold diameter. Must be someware in internet how to tune up such vans.

You'd need more then just a turbo engine, you'll need all the related electronic and mechanical parts that go with it. The easiest way to do conversions like this is to buy a donor vehicle with all the parts you need.

But since we are talking about vans worth around the 2k mark its not going to be viable to swap engines IMO, as said, sell you one and buy a 1.9 turbo diesel model.

I'd be bringing it to a competent mechanic to have it checked out so...

I drove one of those things a while back and it seemed lively enough for a small van. It had no turbo. As Nissan Doc says, get it looked at - it might only be something simple....and way easier to sort than selling it or swapping engines! ;)
