Hey, Im doing some research tonight into getting a cheap keyboard. Its between that or a strat guitar to go along with my acoustic.

Price range is about €300 for piano while ill fork out more for the guitar since i can play it and wife wont complain much on that.

anyone have recommendations, ill be startin keys from scratch and dont need anything crazy but decent sound would be nice.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, then this digital keyboard from Thomann is pretty good

    http://www.thomann.de/ie/thomann_dp30_rwc.htm

Weighted keys, different voices if you're into that, pedals, and other handy things.

Grand one for a beginner to start on, did me nicely for a few years! And I recommended it to someone else on here, who had good reviews after getting it.

It also looks pretty decent, so you can sell it to the wifey as being as much ornamental as anything else :p

Thomann are also pretty great for customer service - free delivery for one thing! I also had something go wrong with it after a year or so, and they sent out a courier with a replacement keyboard that I fit in myself. Ended up they sent out the wrong keyboard or it didn't fit for some reason, so they sent out another one promptly. Dunno how they made much profit from me!

My brother also got one of these ones actually :)

Hey man, thanks for the advice. I only went and got myself a mex strat to tide me out for now. I think that key looks class, would not of thougt thomann to have a good branded instrument, moving into a bigger house soon so could see this nestled in a corner as ill have my own music room for it then.

    thanks
