Christmas... blah

    I'm only posting this because i just need to say it somewhere, feel better to say it to someone rather than keep it to myself.
    so christmas all about family ? i wish :/ due to work i got to go home for xmas eve and day and left the next day. so the 40 ish hours i was at home, my family were pretty much hammered( which is fine because i had the whole ****e talk with the brother and father (which is always nice) ) but i thought the fact they knew i'd only be home a few a short time, they would've been more family like instead of just drinking straight.

    so i'm working tonight, in a night club, where i'll take drunken **** from people who get to go out and have fun then i'll come back to where i stay have no one to talk to sleep and get ready for again for tomorrow night, and repeat this all week till new years.

    then college starts, then i wont be able to go home till april, so i've seen my family once in the past 2 weeks and wont see them till april, and yeah my friends will be back when college starts again, but this all just sucks. in 18 years of my life i've never felt so crappy and alone :/

    Hey OP

    I don't understand why you won't see your family til April? I went to college on the other side of the country and I went home almost every weekend.

    Working in catering/hospitality is extremely tough and people who have never worked in it can count themselves very lucky! I worked in that sector for three years and it was horrible, taking abuse off drunken customers, having to meet their every demands. It can definately bring you down.

    I used to dread going to work! I decided to quit and I looked elsewhere, it took me months but I eventually found a job in retail and it made a huge difference.

    I know you can't afford to be picky in the recession when it comes to jobs but tbh OP I think you should look elsewhere in a different sector. Maybe retail or admin perhaps?
