Gaudy, isn't it? What's wrong with putting it on a stick?

Personally, its the *solid gold* cross that I love. I cannot think of a more inappropriate, gaudy and unfitting object. Everything Christ spoke out against, wrapped up in a representation of how we killed him for speaking out against it.

Christian or Athiest I just have to say.... wow.

Looking at the headline + the pic, I'd imagine that the pope is simply offended by superficial glitter, since he prefers the 18-carat stuff that's measured by the hundredweight.

Making fun of the Catholic Church is like Zelda with all the cheats activated, it's so easy that it stops being fun after a coupla minutes.

the gold was just resting on my hat...

I imagine that most of the gold has built up over the years... It's not like it goes away. Right?
They're not spending money on new gold crosses and such I would hope, I wonder how much cash they have in the bank.

Still with the price of gold at an all time high I think they could do a lot of good with the money. Aid to pay for irrigation and farming... education and so on in the devloping world... Heck I'm sure the hat could feed a lot of homeless people.

I was watching that young Jessie J one sing an acoustic version of her song price tag over Christmas.

    She sang,

"It's not about ba bling, ba bling, I just wanna make the world dance, forget about your price tag".

Pop music is now more moral than the Catholic Church! :D

Moral up front, but actually making a crap load of cash in the background.

Pop and the Catholic Church have that in common ^^

I'm pretty sure it's ok to be gay in pop music these days so I will stand by it being more moral than the Catholic church :D
