I have a Logik L2HDVD11 player with a usb port and a toshiba 500g external hard drive. I was hoping to be able to play movies off the hard drive but when I connect it it says the device is not recognised. Is there a way to overcome this or is it just not possible?

If the drive is formatted NTFS the dvd play may have problem seeing it.
Can the player see a FAT 32 memory Stick

Yes. It can read a FAT memory stick. The hard drive is NTFS

You can convert the Drive to FAT32 using your computer.
However you will lose all DATA on the drive and you cannot put files bigger than 4gb on a FAT drive.

    Thanks. I'll try that!

i have recently bought a panasonic tv that will record to an external hard drive but you have to re format it first, but you will lose all the files that are on it, it will record and play back what you put on it afterwards but all your present recordings will be lost... so remember that if you re format

Another problem I'm now coming across is finding a compatible file format. I've googled the specs of the logik player and it says that divx plays on it. So I downloaded a program to convert my .avi and .mkv etc to .divx and put it onto a flash drive and the player still says the usb is empty. :(

just guessing here but does the player not have to format your drive the same way as my telly asks to format external hdd to record on to it
