What guilt trip did your parents use on you at Christmas

I remember any time I was being a little bollox about my Christmas presents my Dad (who was a kid in the 50s) would tell me how one year all he wanted was a toy Bugle, disappointment with Christmas presents was pretty common as things were so tight. He actually got it to his delight, but it was so cheap it broke with in an hour or two. He was gutted as Christmas was a really lean time of year.

It always shut me up, because in my Dad had to leave school early at like 14 to work on the family farm (he really liked school) and has pretty much worked solid since then.

    Anybody got similar stories ?
