Galapagos Islands: tour recommendations.

    I'm going to the Galapagos Islands in April/May 2012.
    I've read the few posts on this site and the comments are broadly in line with a couple of travel guides I got out of the library.

    My intention is to do the following:
    Book before I leave Ireland (don't want to lose a day shopping for bargains in Ecuador).
    Do a boat tour with Class-III guide (i.e. not backpacker)
    8 day trip

    Have any of you done the above and have recommendations with regard to booking?
    I've read positive comments about Gap. I hope the name doesn't imply Gap Students?

    I've also decided on the following as well:
    * Stay in an Amazon Lodges (3-4 days)
    * Stay in a Haciendas (3-4 days)

    Ideally I'd like to have these booked before I leave Ireland.

    Have any of you readers/posters stayed in an Amazon Lodges or a Haciendas?
    Can you recommend one for a couple that intend to intend to spend the days outdoors enjoying the scenery and the nights taking it easy?
    Are there any other considerations or do you have any tips?

    The most important thing of all when booking a cruise on the Galapagos is your budget. What are you planning on spending - you get what you pay for on the Galapagos. You are guaranteed an incredible trip but there's no doubt that going for the cheapest option will diminish your enjoyment. Let me know what your budget is and I'll try to advise accordingly. I went for a 5D/4N cruise in August to bring the curtain down on a RTW trip and it was mesmerising.
