New delonghi coffee machine makes lot of noise?

Hi My wife has bought me a lovely DeLonghi eco 310 Icona espresso machine. It seems to be very noisy and we can't decide if it needs to go back or whether it's supposed to make so much noise ? Does anyone have any experience of this machine ? Cheers

My wife has bought me a lovely DeLonghi eco 310 Icona espresso machine. It seems to be very noisy and we can't decide if it needs to go back or whether it's supposed to make so much noise ? Does anyone have any experience of this machine ?

I have it, extremely noisy, although it makes great coffee. If you rest your hand on top of the reservoir at the rear it quietens it considerably
