I recently saw a really nice pocket watch (top wound). There was an inscription inside 'Examined by Payne & Son Wallingford'. Does anybody know anything about these pieces? It is 14K gold and beautifully engraved with floral patterns on the back and face. behind the opening back plate it can be opened again to see the movement. incredibly it is barely larger than a €2 coin in diameter.

I have googled the family jewellers, however they do not seem to manufacturer time pieces anymore, selling popular wristwatch brands online instead. Should i recommend the owner have it valued & insured? does anyone know what kind of value it has...?
