AVG Database Not Updating=using Windows 7

Hi, I have had AVG trouble free for a long time. I made a mistake the other night when a message came up about a threat and I pressed ignore instead of remove to the virus vault.

Did a full scan etc which showed a couple of problems and now the avg settings are showing the database is outdated and the fix does not work. The instructions to repair the problem don't explain how to do it in windows 7 and would appreciate if anyone could offer advice.

Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel. but Network Connections is not the next item when doing this in windows 7 so not sure what to press= thanks?

Computer is working perfect , full speed etc so dont think there is much of a prob but obviously security is compromised.
