Thought I'd give props to non quarterbacks for offensive player of the year. 3 guys who you know are going to be massive features of the offene yet they still seem to perform.

Game of the year: Packers @ Giants. Some of those passes from Rodgers to get GB into FG range were the best I've ever seen.

Performance of the year (individual or team): DeMarco Murry's break out performance against the Rams in week 7. 253 yards on 25 carries from a back who started the year at #3 on the depth chart. It's what the nfl is all about!

    MVP: Aaron Rodgers

    Offensive player of the year:
    1) Drew Brees
    2) Rob Gronkowski
    3) Calvin Johnson

    Defensive player of the year:
    1) Terrell Suggs

    3) Jared Allen

    Rookie of the year:
    1) Cam Newton
    2) Von Miller
    3) AJ Green

Comeback player of the year: Alex Smith, he was getting booed by his own fans last year and them chanting for David Carr.

Coach of the year: Jim Harbaugh

I'm going to add an assistant coach of the year award as these people are vital also:
Assistant Coach of the year: Wade Philips

Game of the year: Ravens 23-20 Steelers. This game had everything, including the obligatory last gasp winning drive. But with matchups like these you also get superb defense, it's much more then a shootout

Performance of the year (individual or team): Calvin Johnson v Cowboys. Not his highest yards per game but two TDs including beating triple coverage in the endzone, just ridiculous

Shock of the year: Chiefs beating Packers

I'm just not sold on Aaron Rodgers enough for MVP yet. People will ask what else he has to do and my answer to that is nothing, its just that Brees has been awesome and getting better as the season goes on. He is going to break Marino's record and he has had a couple of great seasons which have to be rewarded. He was robbed a couple of years back when he had 5000 yards and I think he is due it.

Brees has been fantastic this year, but if if both him and Brady break Marino's record, then I give the MVP to Brady simply because Brees will have played 11 of his 16 games in a dome, and only 1 outdoor game in November and December combined. Brady will have played 0 games indoors, and to me that makes his breaking of the record more remarkable.

However, I do think MVP will go to Rodgers and the Offensive Player of the Year award will be reserved for one of Brees or Brady.

Come on man, Rodgers has 9 more TD's than Brady, 6 less Interceptions, a 17-odd point higher passer rating, is actually only about 250 yards behind Brady, but with about 75 fewer attempts.

And i wouldn't venture round northern Wisconsin without me coat this time of year.

That post was in response to EE posting that Brees should get it. I was merely saying that I think Brady > Brees this year, so Brady should get it ahead of Brees. I have no doubt that Rodgers will get it though, as I said later in the post. I probably didnt make it clear enough that I think Rodgers does deserve it hands down, I was just saying that if they're considering giving it to Brees, they should give it to Brady instead.

Tbh the only award I want Tom Brady to win is Superbowl MVP, actually I don't care whether he wins it or not as long as its a Patriot.

Actually, no player who has led the league in Passing Yards has ever won the Superbowl the same year.

Brees can have the record! :pac:

    MVP: Aaron Rodgers

    Offensive player of the year:
    1) Drew Brees
    2) Rob Gronkowski
    3) LeSean McCoy

    Defensive player of the year:

    3) Jason Pierre Paul

    Rookie of the year:
    1) Cam Newton
    2) A.J. Green
    3) Von Miller

Comeback player of the year: Matthew Stafford

Coach of the year: Jim Harbaugh

Game of the year: Patriots at Bills. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Performance of the year (individual or team): Marshawn Lynch versus 49ers run defence.

Shock of the year: Although I thought he would succeed as a QB I'm still shocked at how good Cam Newton has performed this season. Every single draft pundit was saying he would bust, need a few years to learn the game etc. but he has come in and shattered records.

Ah, i see, said the blind man. TBH i'd nearly give it to the Gronk ahead of Brees or Brady (the record would make this near impossible though). But the guy has been off the planet good. Redefining the position.

Cam Newton too. Will have smashed Manning's rookie yards record by week 17. And has more rushing TD's than any other QB in history. Not for Rookies, for ALL QB's. Phenomenal. Could also redefine the position with such dominance in both skills.

I'm genuinely excited about the Panthers next year - they've pretty much become my 2nd team thanks to my love of all things Cam Newton. They've shown that on offence they can pile up points at ease. Two starting calibre running backs, two very good receiving and blocking tight ends, a rejuvenated Steve Smith, and some very capable young receivers, none more so than David Gettis who has been on IR all year - I can't wait to see what he can do with Newton next season. And of course, Newton himself who defensive co-ordinators just cannot game plan against. I don't think we've ever seen such an elite balance of ground and air threat in one QB in this league. All of this under the guidance of one of the best young OC's in the league in Chudzinksi, and it's one terrifically (is that a word?) exciting offence. Hopefully they can hold on to Chudzinski, because I'm sure a couple of teams will have their eyes on him for a head coaching role.

Shore up the defence in the offseason - and the Saints and Falcons will be given one hell of a run for their money next year, and would be dark horse NFC contenders in a year or two.

I know these are all each individuals personal opinion, Just wondering why you think Frank Gore deserves the number 3 offensive player spot?

    Newton has already overtaken Manning!

He's a phenom. But the other rookie QBs have been surprisingly good, particularly Dalton.

That didn't take long, the Jags have asked for permission to speak to him. Would be an awful job to step into, I wouldn't go near it. Hopefully he stays :(
