Unexplainable download figures

Im using a galaxy at the moment, i got a strange message from my service provider today saying that i have nearly reached my daily allowance (50mb) went online to look at my bill and at 11am (was driving at that time) i used 40mb, since then ive deleted all new apps and any that i dont really use and downloaded a datacounter, in the last 4 hours i have used 11mb, but have just been on boards, nothing else.

Also in the last week or so the handset has beed crapping out a lot, freezing, screen dieing rebooting etc.

Is it a possibility that i have a virus or is there an app out there that will show me what exactly i am downloading (even 1 that will give me an hour by hour break down of downloads)

My Data Manager Free won't give you an hourly breakdown, but it will tell you which apps are using what amount of data. It may point out the culprit.

So in the last hour, ive used 4mb 98% of that is internet use, all ive been on is google(wondering why wifi keeps shutting down) and boards, throw in having dinner on the meantime and ive hardly been using it

Maybe your gps is on? If you have a load of accounts set up like gmail twitter these connect to the net automatically

Nah, gps is off and ive turned off autosync, ive got eveeything turned off except wifi, when i open the internet, go straight to task manager it shows that its using 24mb of ram is that normal, its upto 5mb now and im doing nothing, really dont want to do a factory.reset

4mb isn't that unreasonable imo, depending on how long you spent on the web, whether you view the full boards website or an image heavy thread (YLYL, etc). Over the last 24 hours, I've used 31 mb. 17mb of these were during an hour of browsing the boards mobile website.

4mb could've just been a background sync or something, My phone uses about 250mb a week and it always on wifi.
