Lipo battery charging

I got an ImaxB6 and im trying to charge a G&P 7.4v lipo.

The charger is picking up the cells fine but it wont charger the battery. It says that the voltage is either too high or too low and makes loud beeping noises. It will charge if the charger is set to charge one cell but obviously thats pointless.

Any suggestions on how to get it the charge the battery?

Is this the first time you've used the IMax or have you successfully charged other batteries before?
If the IMax has worked in the past, especially with othe LiPos, is this teh first time you have tried to charge this particular LiPo?
Is the balance cable correctly connected to the right connector on the charger?
Is the IMax configured to charge a 2S LiPo?
When you confirm the configuration before starting the charge process does the IMax confirm the configuration matches the discovered cells i.e. both are 2S?

I had this same problem when I got my Imax.
It wasn't the charger itself, but the battery.

The battery I got had dropped below its minimum, but the Imax would or could not recover it. I charged the battery for a few mins on a cheapy lipo charger I had picked up before and then put it back on the Imax.

No problems since. I don't let my batteries drop that low.

Run the battery through a balance cycle first.

Firstly balance cycle agreed but only in normal circumstances:)Pretty sure if it wont charge it wont balance-also you say if you set it to one cell it works:confused::confused::confused: confusing indeed as it should bleep and inform you that 'wrong' voltage is detected. Get a loan of a battery you know is okay and put it on charge-just to confirm the charger is ok(would'nt be the first charger to be faulty from new)-work it out from there-straightforward enough I would have thought.:)I see people week after week firing their aegs with lipos until they stop:mad: At this stage the battery is finished-if you let any lipo drop below 3v per cell you can send it to th recycle yard-PERIOD.

Ill have to either try and charge the battery with another charger or try different batteries. I tried it with 2 batteries, both are brand new. Ill try it with different types of batteries and see what happens.
