So boards and particularly AH is good craic, can you foresee a time when you'll quit either/ both and close your account? Me, possibly...when posting stops becoming fun in AH or when boards becomes a commercial entity that I don't agree with; thankfully neither has happened yet.

Might try and organise a mass closing account pact, hundreds or thousands of prominent posters boarding the mothership disappearing in one fell swoop over night.

It'll be the closest I'll probably ever get to becoming the leader of a cult.
Better keep it on the down low though, just need to come up with a snappy name for the movement.

I really enjoy Afters Hours and have never given any legitimate consideration to closing my boards account. My facebook is gone but I still love Boards.:D

I probably wouldn't ever close it, but it ain't what it used to be either so I'd certainly consider taking an extended break from it or maybe only look in now and again.

It's funny, some of the admins refer to the signal to noise ratio when posting in the Prison forum with sitebanned users but to be honest, these days most of the noise comes from actual "genuine" posters (and in other fora besides AH).
I doubt I'd be missed that much either way though which works out well. Meh.

Out of interest for people here that are considering closing their accounts, why?

Fair enough if you're moderating a busy forum you might decide that it's time to step back but if not surely you could just post less frequently (or not at all if that's what you wish)? I don't mean to criticise, I just don't get why people want to make it final. There's nothing forcing anyone to post.
