Iv got a 2007 Toyota auris and while driving home tonight the Srs warning light lit up and displayed a message "check airbags". Has anyone had a similar problem before with their Toyota, il not be able to get it to a dealer for awhile over Christmas and hoping its not a serious problem that will be costly, have only got the car 5months!

Get it checked asap. The Dealer should be able to quickly diagnose the problem using a fault scanner. Lots of people are just worried that it's an NCT Fail, but I'd be more concerned about the (slim) possibility that the Airbag may not work correctly in a crash.

Not sure about Toyota, but I think that light can refer to seatbelt pre-tensioners on some cars.

Yeh it mentioned pre-tensioners in the manual as well, I have little knowledge of cars so it doesn't mean a lot to me! I bought the car in Sligo and living in Donegal so il not be bringing it to that dealer soon, will have to contact my own mechanic after Christmas, won't be doing much driving in the mean time to be on the safe side!

First thing to check is the connections under the seats as the can get pulled or broken for things getting cought under the seat.i could also be a seat reconigtion sensor.as stated before ur system code be deactivated if the light is in my advice is get it checked
