HTC Hero replacement

I've had the Hero for a couple of years and what to replace it.

I want something powerful, with flawless scrolling of lists and webpages. The S2 and Nexus are far too big for my liking so I'm looking for something that can be easily operated in one hand.

Also Android 4.0 would be nice, either through official update or by rooting and flashing a custom ROM.

The Samsung Galaxy W looks decent. 1.4ghz, 3.7" which would be the upper limit. Are there any dual core smaller phones out there at the moment or on the horizon?
