People, i have an Archos 10.1 Internet Tablet and i'm getting the following message when i try to play some movies ...
Cinema plug-in - The files contains an AC3 audio format. You will need to purchase the cinema plug-in (DVD, MPEG-2, AC3) at www.archos.com/store

I am trying to purchase it online but its proving very difficult.

Anyway, i notice that there are a number of sites that offer the plug-in to download. Has anyone done this already and can they please advise.

    Firmware: 2.4.81 (Android 2.2)

Ok, i eventually got there and was able to purchase the plug-in and i got an email with a link to the download and installation instructions ....
    1. Connect your Archos device to your computer.

Using the USB cable, plug your Archos device into your computer. Navigate to ‘my computer’ and double click the ARCHOS device in the list. Double click ‘internal storage’ to enter the onboard memory of the device.

    2. Copy the plug-in onto the Archos storage device.

Copy the Plug-in (.aos extension), either by drag and drop or by copy and paste, into the window that is now shown. Not into any of the existing folders but just into the ‘internal storage’ (this is called the root level).

    3. Activate the plug-in.

Unplug the USB cable from your PC. Your ARCHOS device will automatically start the update process that will install the plug-in. You will be prompted to re-plug in the USB cable in order to power the device during the update process. The update will take about one minute. Do not unplug the USB cable powering the device during the update as this could potentially render your device unusable.

But it still doesn't work .... is this a scam or something?

This took three or four reboots (true be told i gave up on it) and eventually it picked it up and updated, all sorted now. I think its worth the tenner
