Seamus Moynihan played his last game last Sunday. A great player one of the best of all time. One thing about him for such a big name he always managed to avoid the media in a time when some players get there face in it any time they can. Also most young fellas would want to be the Gooch or any of the other big name forwards he was one of the few back young lads wanted to be.

His record is not bad at all. How he only won 3 All Stars ill never know

    4 All-Irelands
    8 Munster Championships
    4 National Leagues
    2 Munster Under-21 Championships
    1 Munster Minor championship
    1 Railway Cup
    3 All-Stars
    Player of the Year
    Ireland Captain
    1 Hogan Cup
    4 Sigerson Cups
    3 Kerry County Championships
    1 Kerry Club Championship
    5 East Kerry Championships

Magnificent player, often strangely overlooked when great players are being mentioned. It could have something to do with the normal bias towards forwards I suppose, but one of my favourtite players to watch ever.

To be honest when I think of the great GAA footballers I think of people like Moynihan. A leader, tough, great brain, commanding centre back and a role model for his team.

Speaking of former greats Martin Shovlin up here in Donegal played for his local club in the Junior B Championship a few weeks ago and they won. Think he's 51. No word yet whther it's his last game or not!

I have huge respect for him as a player. Heard that he got an awful doing in his last club match with Glenflesk when they played Dr. Crokes. No need for that at all.

you got proof of that? i would expect the crokes to have alot of respect for him, as they would for most players.

One of the greats, No doubt about that.

One of the few players I have seen that seemed to have a sixth sense as to where the ball was going to land.
Totally wasted at full back though in my opinion.

people are known to talk s*it and tell lies.

an awful doing gives the impression he was punched, kicked and dragged about the place, can you confirm that happened as its the first and only reference i have heard.

anybody actually at the match, confirm it? in fact, all i heard was that glenfesk were well able to thrown their weight around the place in that match.
