rté junior epg

    I've an Edision Argus mini ip - so not saorview certified.

    I've noticed an issue on rté junior, with programs starting ( and ending) before the epg states. I've seen it mainly in the evening, where programmes stop about 6:30, but the epg says they go onto 6:45

    I can't find a tv listings for this channel, even on rté, to see if the epg is wrong or it's my box

    Anyone else noticed?

    Yes I noticed also . I emailed saorview about it and they passed it on to the television department to have the matter sorted , that was four months ago and to date it still is the same.

    grand, sent rte a complaint so.
    peculiar they have the listings for cbbc/cbeebies online byt not their own channel....

    Dear Mr C,

    I have been forwarded your query regarding the EPG listings for RTE Jr on Saorview.

    We are aware that there are inaccuracies with the EPG display of the programme titles for the afternoon listings on RTE Jr and are working to find a resolution to this problem. The scheduling of the programmes on the RTE Jr channel is different from RTE’s two principal channels, RTE ONE and RTE TWO. The channel is created using different technology and is based on a loop system which means that the timings are subject to slight changes as the afternoon schedule progresses.

    The initial loop is a simulcast of the RTE Jr programming on RTE TWO (between 0900 and approximately 1205 each weekday). This loop is then played back a further three times until approximately 1830 on Saorview. At 1900 the RTE ONE +1 service is transmitted on this spectrum.

    The RTE TV Technology department are currently upgrading the entire Transmission system to enable RTE to broadcast a multiple of channels using the same scheduling and play out technology. This should be implemented and put live within the next 12 months.

    In the meantime, let me thank you and your children for choosing to watch the RTE Jr service on Saorview. We are working to improve this brand new service for all of our viewers as quickly as possible.
