Hi,would appreciate any help on this,i got a new laptop and had no trouble at all connecting it to my TV (not hdmi. by vga). But recently when i try,the picture is not coming up on the tv,and the intel(R) graphics menu is now saying Media not supported.
Have checked and rechecked the cable and the connections, and did not alter any settings on the laptop,i did run some windows updates recently, but would that cause it to stop working?
    Thank you.

Have you tried "windows key" + "p"? or "FN key" + F (2-12) depending on a laptop, there should be screen icon on the key.
I also need to ask if you are using proper source setting on your tv

id imagine youll need to update your graphics driver.

go into control panel. then system/security, and click 'check for updates'

if you see and display driver, install that and restart when prompted.

when you plug in a VGA cable the picture should automatically show on your external monitor.

(i had this same problem with a friends laptop, updating the driver worked. the TV was too high resolution for the standard driver to handle)
