have gas underfloor heating in the front room and its great but theres a vent of some sort behind the tv which comes out on the front of the house. now i'm assuming its there for some legit reason :D but there can be an awful draft coming from it some night. is there anything i can do with this?? i know i could cover it as its small but i'm just not sure why its there really.

Is it left over from a previous heat source in the room ?

What boiler do you have and where is it located ?? do you have any heat source in that room ?

    hi billy,
its a new house so there was no other heat source before. its gas underfloor heating in the room, we have no boiler. the vent is going right out through the wall to the front wall in the house, its just strange that there's no way to close it

Something wrong here: gas UFH and no boiler. Pls clarify before closing vent

sounds like its just a vent for fresh air/air change. if its a new house it will be well insulated so you need air change to stop stale air and condensation on the windows etc. you could put a pillow across it to stop a draught but will still allow some air in for fresh air.

only do this if there is defo no heat source in the room, as it would need air for combustion, change it for a hit and miss vent so you can close it over. again only if there is no heat source.
