Looks like I was right, then the default fare isn't the maximum fare for busses to the sticks.

It'll be difficult to convict someone for underpaying the outer suburban fare given the completely contradictory information that arrives in the letter with the leap card.

Also I give you the codology regarding the 90/91 fares as proof that this isn't an integrated ticketing system.....

Is it not a sobering experience to behold how one small nation,of peasant stock, can take a relatively simple concept such as Busfare and within a week conspire to turn it into an arcane black-magic ritual.

Whilst I fully agree with lxflyers oft-stated points regarding subvention,I still contend that the Original Brief for the ITS group should have enabled that body to put the house in order BEFORE attempting any card issue.

That, patently, has not happened, with the result that we now stare a serious self-imposed disaster situation in the face.

The Leap Card fares are very hard to read aren't they?

Also the Xpresso and Outer suburban fares are going down the same avenue as the fare stage system

City Centre fare I assume is a misprint?
    Adult Leap: 50
    Adult Cash: 60
    Child Cash: 60
    Child Leap: 85

    That's been corrected to €0.50.

And worse still, the City Centre Fare remains buried away in a sub menu which requires the skills of Magellan to navigate there...and back :)

On this page there is reference to at 30 Day Rambler for 110 Euro. It is like buying 30 one day ramblers together and is great value for an occasional bus user like me. I have been trying for a few days to buy a new one on line, but Ticketmaster bombs out, telling me there is 'no match' for that ticket. When you search travelwide and rambler tickets on Ticketmaster, you can find a 30 day ticket for students, but not for adults. Anyone know anything about this?

I've seen this list of fares before, but as I have a Student Rambler ticket..I haven't found any information on the no doubt price increase on them...

Incidentally, what happens if I have one day left on a Rambler ticket on Jan 1 2012 with a 2011 student travelcard number written onto it? Invalid I'm guessing..

The price of pre-paid tickets usually increases sometime after a cash fair increase. Hence my desire to buy a new pre-paid 30 day rambler NOW!

Not sure why but you can buy it at any Dublin Bus ticket agent or DB Head Office.

I would imagine so given the card expires on December 31?

Prepaid tickets did not increase in price until May last year so I'd imagine it'll be something similar this time around.

Dublin Bus head office should have them. They don't sell well elsewhere.

They will inevitably go up soon and i intended on getting a few before christmas but forgot.

My potentially stupid question is whether these tickets will now go up with the VAT increase or is there no VAT on bus tickets?

    No increase in price.

Public transport services are VAT-exempt. This means that there is no VAT on the tickets themselves, but VAT-liable inputs (fuel, vehicles, security services) will increase in cost.
