Penalty points

    I hope im in the right location but i have a quick query regarding the penalty points. Suppose you had penalty points for a prolonger period and then get a new set of points, do the existing points get refreshed. For example i have 4 penalty points from a year and a half ago. I got two more unfortunately yesterday, do the 4 i had previously or will they be gone in a year and a half?

    if you check the letter you got stating your points were added there is an expiry date on them! this doesnt change so yes your first 4 points will be gone in a year and a half.

    The points you had previously will still expire three years from the date they were applied; they won't be affected by the new ones in any way.

    If you want to check what date they're due to expire, you can ring the RSA with your driving licence number and they'll tell you straightaway.
