Has anyone seen the "MAC" makeup large Brush sets that are being sold on Henry Street for Christmas?

Anyone had experience using them? are they in anyway as good as real MAC brushes?

I seriously doubt it. Haven't used fake MAC myself, but from what I've read and heard the brushes are generally awful quality. If you want some inexpensive brushes, Boots sell a brand called Ecotools which are really good (usually around 6 euro for a brush). Essence ones aren't that bad either, and even the ones in Penneys are okay :)

To be honest, they are not the worst for what your paying for them. But you can get really good make up brushes on http://www.crownbrush.co.uk/
These are great, good value and long lasting :)

Thanks for the responses and the link. They have some lovely brush sets. I have used fake Mac Blush before and it was just as good but I wasn't sure about Brushes.
I know you get the same amount of quality for the money you pay, but I can't bear to pay the price, think Mac brushes are far too expensive.

On a cost per use basis, my MAC brushes must be practically free by now. Sigma do decent enough cheaper alternatives (I'd rather have those than counterfeit anything) but they are for sure not as good as my MAC ones. I've picked mine up over time, mostly in airports or in the US - I agree the price in Irish euro is pretty steep.

    Hi OP,

There is a brand in boots called "ms make up" I have an eye shadow brush and it is fantastic.

I have had it since I was about 14 (am 21 in two months!) and it's been used loads and washed loads, its never shed any hair, never gone out of shape or anything. I had a face brush from the same brand, but that shed hair and it was very scratchy, but the eye brushes weren't.

I can't remember the exact price, but it wasn't expensive at all.

The brushes come in pink & purple packaging and are well worth checking out.

Ruby & Millie are also very good, they are no longer stocked in Boots, but you can get them on eBay and Amazon.

FYI fake brushes have been found to have rat hair in them.

You'd be much better off investing in ELF brushes or something.

Do you really think that a knock off company are going to source rat hair for cosmetic brushes?? That sounds ridiculous. Bottom line for these companies that produces them is to make a few quid easily on the back of a successful company. Surely it would be easier and cheaper for them to source synthetic hair instead?

    I wouldn't trust anything counterfeit.

Urine has been found in fake perfume and lead has been found in fake makeup.

Why take a chance with something that could be harmful to you when you can just get a cheaper safer alternative.

I don't understand the appeal of having something fake myself.
