Does anyone know any good literature out there about hip hop? My father is buying me 'How To Rap: The Art and Science of the Hip Hop MC' for Christmas. I've heard it's very good, so I'm looking forward to giving it a read. Just wondering if anyone has read or heard of any other good books.

Queens Reigns Supreme mainly about Kenneth Supreme McGriff but also allot about rappers and how they grew around the time he was running the NY drug scene highly recommended

currently reading this its a bit biased obviously against Diddy as its written by one of his former artists but its a good incite into the world of bad boy

"Can't Stop Won't Stop" by Jeff Chang. I bought it years ago but have still yet to read it. From everything I've heard about it though it seems to be one of the best books about the history of hip hop.

I have no idea what it is called, but it was a Tupac book about his life and it mainly had letters he wrote from prison and lyrics/poems etc.

Great read, I'd recommend this one.
