Tops to wear with skirts

I was just thinking today about all the skirts that I own, and that I don't wear them as much as I should. The reason for this is, I just don't know what to put with them! Usually if I do decide to wear one, I'll just put on something incredibly plain like a black vest and a cardigan, because I don't know what else to wear. I think a lot of the time the problem is that I buy a skirt because I think it's really nice, without thinking how it'll fit in with the rest of what I wear.

Here are a few examples of skirts that would be similar to ones that I own, just to give you an idea!

This would be quite similar to one I bought last year, in style, colour etc, although the one I have is longer

This is also like something that I already own, as is this

So I'm just looking for general opinions really on what you would wear with skirts that isn't just the usual plain top kind of thing!

Team it up with a black blazer, black tights and heels!

Thanks for the suggestion! I do agree that that would look very well, not entirely sure if it would be for me but I'd never actually considered wearing something like a buttoned shirt before, so while that particular one might not be my style, that's definitely something I'll consider in future!

What would you all wear with a kind of tweed grey skirt? It's to the knee and is a-line - sort of a wintery skirt! The only thing I can think of to wear with it would be a poloneck and they look awful on me so...!
