Airpush spam

I noticed in the last couple of days that I was getting notification spam from something called airpush. It appears this is a new advertising method that some developers have incorporated into apps instead of google ads and the likes.

It turns out that an app I was using called My Settings was updated recently to include this, and I was getting 1 spam notification per day. I found it was that app by installing an app called Airpush detector, which seems to have stopped the spam after I uninstalled.

I'm not too happy that this happened, and have seen from some quick checking that it is used in other apps as well. I thought I'd give a quick heads up to people in case they are getting this, or might in future. the detector is a free app that is tiny in size, but does exactly what it says on the tin from what I can see.

I got the same, I think it's from the MP3 Download App though.

You can use this app to find out what app is pushing it and remove it.
It was a settings app that was doing it on my phone
