I was in the process of changing my router and deleted the wireless settings on the Wii by mistake (Big Mistake) . I have tried everything to get the wii online again but keep on getting error codes 52230 and 52231. I have gone through all the Nintendo site fixes to no avail. I have entered all the settings manually but still get the errors.:( I am just wondering if someone would have their Wii connected through a linksys Wrt54g router and be able to share their settings.Cheers.

Reduce the strength of your firewall to low on the router. See if that fixes it.

Thanks for the reply...I have tried this and even tried turning off the firewall. It seems to be an issue with either my ip or dns values.I can see the mac address in the router settings page so the wii is talking to the router but no matter what settings i put in for ips and dns it fails the wifi test.

Still having connection test issues with the wii if anyone can shed some light(3ds is connecting straight away). Rang Nintendo customer care today (complete waste of time). Didn't have a clue what the problem might be. Doing some research myself i have found that it could be the softmod on the Wii is causing my trouble, but i still have no idea how to fix it.:(

Are you using DHCP? If not, have you set up DNS etc correctly?

    Yeah DHCP is enabled...
I think i have put the right settings in manually anyway. I have tried the dns from my ipconfig settings and tried open dns values aswell. When i check my router status on the settings page i see the ip address of the wii. Is this the address i use in the ip for the wii. Ips 192.168.1.102+ 255.255.255.0 subnet +192.168.1.1 for gateway and i use the dns settings from my pc.
Should i be doing something else aswell. I tried connecting the wii through a usb lan adapter and it still fails the test.

If your using DHCP then don't use any manual settings, delete them, make sure the Wii is configured for DHCP & try again

stupid question? but how do you make sure wii is set up for dhcp. I have deleted all the connection settings.I can find the access point and enter key. If i set ip and dns to auto, it fails the test and gives me the error codes.Am i forgetting something.?

I can't remember off hand, but if your Wii is letting you input static ip settings, it's probably not setup for DHCP. Have a look around in the menu's

See here up to step 9, there's a pic for auto obtain IP address...just follow the guide to get that far & make sure its set to yes

Check the frequency channel you have your wifi network set to. I had a smiliar problem with connectivity ages ago when nothing else appeared wrong. Set the channel to either default to 1 or 15 if I recall.

Just a follow up on my connection test fail problem.!!!

I fixed it last night...:).After nights and weeks of surfing forums and tutorials and two calls to nintendo i stumbled upon a program called Startpatch (which i had in my Homebrew Channel and couldnt remember what it did)..
Startpatch allows you to set hacks on the wii such as( stop auto update + disc update+automatically press A button on homescreen and ALWAYS FAIL CONNECTION TEST)
To remove the hacks you just load startpatch and select the enabled hacks and press B to uninstall hack....NOT:mad:
It is not that straight forward coz if you load priiloader after you have enabled the hacks on Startpatch you can no longer disable them......................
Until you uninstall Priiloader and then you can disable the hacks and would you believe the wifi connection test worked automatically first time, by just selecting access point and entered key and Test Complete:D:D:D
    Happy Days......

Thanks for the replies and suggestions above and hopefully this might come in handy to someone else sometime.........

    Cheers
    Pat
