    Hey All,

I keep meaning to do a photography evening course so I reckon 2012 is the time to get to it!

I have (with my hubby who is much more nifty with settings etc) a Nikon SLR. i really enjoy composing the picture and capturing the moments, but I'd just love to learn more about the settings and possibilities with the camera.

Im not one for reading online guides and teaching myself, so would like a proper taught course, ive seen some that are one day jobbies, and some 7 nights etc, really open to suggestions and recommendations, around Dublin city centre would be handiest.

    Thanks!

What location? (it might help in terms of useful options for you)

If Dublin is an option then check out the institute of photography (formerly digital beginners).. They generally get a seal of approval from those who have attended their courses around these parts.

Again Dublin Centric, but Dublin Camera Club run courses over a number of weeks (one night per week), which are also of a really high standard albeit a little less practical than the institute of photography.

I did a one day wedding course with Dave during the year and found him great

Good to hear - I have a voucher for a free half day course with them, came with my recent Canon purchase. Don't know whether to do the beginner or intermediate though, as I think I'm a little ahead of one and a little behind the other (from my few years using a bridge camera).

Give Dave a buzz and discuss - he's a very approachable guy. He posts here occasionally but i can't be sure that he's a daily visitor.

They (the IOP) are doing a free dusk shoot (open to all) just after Christmas maybe 28th but verify if interested (saw them posting about it today somewhere- probably facebook). you could pop along there and grab his ear for a few minutes either, oh, and learn something whilst there :)
