Quick question, could racing the engine in a driving test affect your result?

Just wondering if racing the engine be considered a grade 2 fault?

Similar to that of not observing or looking in the mirrors enough or not progressing quick enough when traffic is clear at a junction and roundabout.

I always considered a grade 2 fault as a result of causing an obstruction or not enough observation!

What do you mean by "racing the engine"?

    My instructor thinks it could??

'Racing the engine' as in revving the engine too much when accelerating or putting to much gas at a low gear making the engine give off a roaring sound say when pulling out and reversing and moving on. Racing the engine when at a low gear when car should be up a higher gear to match the speed.

You could be marked under "Vehicle Controls" for Accelerator for not making proper use of it
Examples of ‘Vehicle Control’ faults include:
    (a) Accelerator: not applied properly or at the correct time, or excessive use for the conditions.

Yes. That can easily get you a grade two mark.
