Saorview Freeview question

Have a sky dish for sky connected to the main tv in the sitting room. Have an aerial on the roof and bought a 19 inch tv with Saorview in the kitchen which works perfectly. Have to buy another tv with Saorview for the bedroom before the change over takes place as the portable there is old . Can someone tell me my options to getting some free view channels on the tv in the kitchen and bedroom as we will miss bbc1 channel 4 and itv when the change over happens? Thanks Bryan

You could run another cable from the dish to give free satellite channels in kitchen.

You may need to upgrade the LNB on dish from single to quad, depending on what's there already. Of course you would need a FREESAT/FTA receiver, if TV has no satellite tuner

I'll leave this here as despite the title, its really a Sky/Freesat question. Cable is also an option. Freeview's only an option if you live near the border.

There is a box in attic that connects aerial to all tv points. Pretty sure the sky dish is just ran down to main tv. Will be a tv with a digital tuner i purchase. Single to quad whats involved there? Would i need to connect dish to other tvs via cable or can it be done remotely?

I live in Drogheda about 30 miles from border

If you currently have analogue terrestrial UK channels, you may be able to receive their Freeview digital replacement after switchover.

The main transmitter in Belfast (Divis) is currently broadcasting Freeview on low power & this will get a big boost at switchover. If you're receiving from Kilkeel, this site is currently analogue-only & will broadcast the public service Freeview channels (includes the current HD lineup) following switchover, not the full service broadcast by the main sites.

Any Saorview certified tv will also decode the SD Freeview channels but Freeview HD requires one that includes a DVB-T2 tuner.

This is interesting to now. So because of my location there is a good chance i will pick up some of the freeview stations. I bought a phillips tv with digital tuner back in april. Must check to see if it has DVB-T2? The next tv i buy for the bedroom i will make sure it has a dvb-t2 tuner. thanks
