Hi. I bought a usb dvb-t dongle from Satboxes.com and was wondering if anyone has this working on Windows 7. It scans and finds nothing. I have the dongle connected to an aerial thats working fine with my saorview box with no signal issues.
    Thanks.

What software are you using? Windows 7 Media Center should work fine on pretty much anything with Windows 7 drivers. The only other thing I could think of is that maybe it's not DVB-T, could be ISDB or DTMB.

Thanks for the replies. Windows Media Center scans and finds no channels also. Im using BlazeVideo HDTV Player and the stick is dvb-t compliant.
I bought it for a DM800hd but wanted to test it on the pc.

    Cheers.

Did it come with a small aerial ? is that what you are using to try and get a signal ?

I have a usb DVB-T tuner and got no signal using the supplied aerial , when I connected it to a proper aerial I got a full signal and all channels were available .

    Hope this helps .

I have one of those usb dongles as well. I am using media centre on vista. it can pick up radio stations but cant pick up tv. I have tested this on another laptop that i had set up using media centre on win 7,everything tunes in. Everything is kept in same place. Makes no sense to me.

Vista's Media Center is MPEG-2 only so won't work with Saorview TV channels. You'll need to use different software on the Vista machine.

It works with the small aerial that comes with it. I stuck it onto to a 6ft metal lamp and is working fine.

Thanks for that. Can I please ask if you have anything in the advanced settings if you are using BlazeTV.

    Thanks.

No channels found on media portal either but the install on windows 7 did not go according to the guide. I hate windows 7.

Im getting 100% signal and 10% quality at 738000 using two different aerials and many different settings.

Did the Windows Drivers install correctly ? Within Media Centre, does it seem to have found and recognised the fact that a TV Tuner is installed ?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, media center sees the Dvbt usb device and like all the other software I have tried there are no channels found.
I have tried Vista, xp and 7 and get the same results, 10% quality at 738mhz with an aerial on the roof or on the floor, front and back of the house. The stick must be faulty. Cheap from China, probably expected.

Have you received Saorview TV, from the aerial you are using, on any other device?

Have you tried the dongle in a different PC in a different location? - friend's maybe?

I opened the dongle today to find what looks like a burnt chip. This was never going to work. Delivered in a non sealed package, I should have checked it sooner. Thanks for the support and sorry for wasting your time.
