Eventually got to change the thermo but I dropped one of the bolts of the housing and its playing silly buggers and cant be found.
Any one know the size of the bolt or are the Audi specific?

Take out one of the bolts and bring it to any garage. They probably have a big bucket of old nuts and bolts and can help yourself. Where all the bolts the same size? Sorry I can't help with the specs though.
Can you get your hands on a magnet?

    No access to a magnet.
Went up to the local MF and he said he would get one in the morn from some place (Tacks Fasteners???) in Finglas but he needed the other bolt. He said he would call in to pick up the bolt as he (almost) has to pass my house on the way home but alas no sign of him.
May take a trip to one of the local garage's and rifle thru their bolts box.

Yes M7 as above so not that common. Also change the housing while you are at it. There is a high chance it will leak if you don't fit a new one.

I have plenty of the bolts here in Laois if you are really stuck :D

Thanks George. If I was anywhere near Laois I would take you up on the offer.
I will get a M7 match tommorrow and order a new housing and bolts from Audi/VAG straight after xmas.
