I use a motorised dish and it dawned on me that if the cyfra + card needs updating each month I will have to park dish at 13e. Does anyone know what the procedure is. ie is it updated as a one off or does it need updating each month ala sky??

    thanks

Yep, it needs to update it's entitlements so you'll need to get your dish over to a channel on the Cyfra package to get the updates. Any one of them will do. If you're using CCcam you can see the date of the entitlements at http://IP_OF_YOU_BOX:16001/entitlements . OSCAM will show it on the reader tab under entitlements.

I wrote a small perl script that checks it for me automatically and if the date is less than 2 weeks till expiration it will send me an email and auto zap to a Cyfra channel at 2am the next morning. Works pretty well!
