US GAAP experience

    Hi,

I'm a recently qualified ACA. Hoping to move from audit to industry. A lot of job spec's I'm looking at require some experience in US GAAP, which I do not have.

Is it possible to do some sort of crash course online in it. I did find something that Deloitte published http://www.iasplus.com/dttpubs/0809ifrsusgaap.pdf which gives a good outline of the basics in US GAAP v IFRS.

Other than that I've seen the institute offer a diploma in US GAAP but they cost €2.5k or so. Although they do offer a one day web seminar for €280. Do you think this would be enough of a base in the primary differences to convince an interviewer they should give me a job where I would be involved in reporting under US GAAP?

Thanks for any help/advice that may be forthcoming!
