Are the sales starting in Cork on 26th or 27th. I think maybe the sales start in Dublin earlier than in Cork or maybe I am mistaken?.

I don't know if you're shopping online or not but the majority of online shops (dorothy perkins, boohoo, asos etc) have already started their sales, most started on Christmas Eve

Thanks for reply pikiebean22. Not shopping on line but would venture into town to shops if sales were on!

Didn't the sales for most places in town start on the 26th? I'm probably going to head in tomorrow.

Online buying for the win I reckon. Last year was madness, the crowds ruin the fun!

Agreed! Although I don't think I ventured out til the 28th last year. So much less stress but so much easier to spend too much online! Got a good few bargains over the past few days on various websites. Still want to get into the sales to get stuff for my boys (very little choice online for boys:mad:) will probably head in early on the 27th if the boy's grandparents look after them tomorrow night and tuesday.

I really dislike sales starting on St. Stephen's Day - so I won't be heading out until tomorrow at the earliest.

I went into Jervis this morning at 10am to doddle some time as I was waiting for my dad to arrive at Dublin Airport ( home christmas, eeeekk!!). Scenes at Next were crazy, queues going way out the door! Your brave to go through that. RI was in a mess, clothes thrown everywhere. I avoid sales ALWAYS, unless im there really early like I was last summer for RI sales, getting a train into Londons Oxford Street at 6am! :D

River Island was crazy yeah, felt sorry for my friend who actually had to work there. Did find a nice pair of black trousers and a t shirt though.

I didn't think the sales were great this year, a bit of a let down actually!

The River Island sale online was decent at 4am when it began but by 5am there was nothing that I liked left. I wasn't brave enough to venture in store!

Primark/Penneys seemed to have an ok-ish sale on when I popped in last night. All of the rails were full so I'm guessing they were just after putting them out (it was 7pm and I was the last person in the store) brogues were €14 marked down to €5, bras were €9 marked down to €3, blouses were €15 marked down to €5, etc. Most stuff half price or less.

New Look had a good sale on the morning of Xmas eve, loads of tops/skirts/trousers marked down to €4, some of these were upwards of €30 originally. My mom got a really nice brown jacket that was €44.99 marked down to €4! bargain. Their online sale wasn't great and I noticed many of the items were cheaper in their sale in store, which was surprising since the website is in pounds!
One thing I noticed in New Look - many of the items that were marked down to €4 on Christmas eve had their stickers torn off yesterday and a new price stuck on. Eg. One blouse that was 34.99 originally, marked down to €4 on Christmas eve and had a new sticker of €14 yesterday. I seen this with at least 10+ items that I recognised from Christmas Eve.

Marks and Spencer sale was absolute rubbish and full of the rudest people (especially in the kids section) many items priced over €20 had only €2.50-€5 off them.

Dorothy Perkins sale was okay, lots of half price things but I never buy anything in there until a week or two into the new year when the sale stock has 70% off rather than up to 50%.

I'd agree, I was in Cork yesterday and nothing caught my eye, Penneys as you say was the only one with decent offers. I wasn't really in the market for things for myself (as got enough already online!) but did get 2 nice dresses in penneys. Have to say there was NOTHING decent in the sale for boys:mad: I went in thinking I'd be able to get a few things for them but there was either nothing or pink/purple/orange things left. Very disapointing. Clarkes had good reductions but nothing left in their sizes.

I was in city yesterday. In morning was very quiet, that was very good for me.
I got nice shoes in Clark's,but there wasn't a huge sale for some shoes, children's footwear wasn't cheap enough for me.
I got nice shoes for my girl in Next, but yesterday was very little left in that shop, and everybody still grabbing things as crazy.,
Penny's have nice some good reductions.I feel happy with stuff, what I got there.

Was in Cork City yesterday and there was nothing left! I'm never one for the sales but I thought there might be something left! Nothing caught my eye! I did get shoes though in BT! A pair of dark navy satin court peep toe stilettos and a pair of grey and black animal print kitten heels - both Kurt Geiger, the peep toes were 59e down from 125 and the kitten heels were 55 down from 120

Also got 2 sets of dressy bangles in Next

    That was it!
