Thickness/type of poured screed floor

Could anybody give me some advice regarding the most appropriate thickness/type of poured screed floor to work in conjunction with geothermal/underfloor heating. We were looking at a calcium-sulphate based product as we had planned to pour it 50mm thick and were told that this would not be thick enough for a cement based screed. One contractor has suggested that the calcium sulphate at 50mm may lose heat too quickly causing the geothermal to kick in and therefore cost us more money in electric. Is this true? Is there an optimum product/thickness for geothermal/underfloor?

    Thanks
    Jon
